Before We Start, This Isn't About Making Coffee
We're not here to teach you how to make coffee. You already know coffee.
This is about cold brew a completely different experience. Smoother, sweeter, and once you try it properly, it's hard to go back.
Let's get into it.
What Is Cold Brew? A Quick History
Cold brew has been around much longer than most people think.
Back in 17th century Japan, traders discovered that steeping coffee grounds in cold water
slowly, over many hours produced something remarkably smooth and clean. They called it Kyoto-style cold drip, and the idea never really went away.
Today, cold brew is one of the fastest-growing categories in the specialty coffee world and for good reason.
Choosing Your Coffee Beans

Your cold brew is only as good as the coffee you put in it.
Cold brew amplifies everything in the bean the good and the not-so-good. So use great ones.
- Go specialty coffee — Specialty-grade beans (SCA 80+) are carefully sourced and roasted for quality. You'll taste every bit of that in your cold brew.
- Medium to dark roast — Brings out chocolate, caramel, and nutty notes. Perfect for cold brew.
- Fresh is everything — Beans roasted within the last 2~4 weeks make a noticeable difference.
- Origin suggestions — Ethiopian (fruity, floral) or Colombian (balanced, chocolatey) are cold brew favourites.
